Orchid inspirations

Billowing out of the earth, the design of the new Visitors Centre at VanDusen Botanical Gardens in Vancouver was inspired by the shape of an orchid. Linda Vergnani visits the centre, which uses net zero energy, and interviews lead designer Jim Huffman and renowned landscape architect Cornelia Hahn Oberlander.
