An award-winning freelance journalist, Linda has had features published in more than 30 newspapers and magazines. Editorial consultancy

With extensive newspaper, magazine, book and corporate editing experience, Linda runs a consultancy Eco Editors and is a partner in Express Editors. One of her strengths is conveying complex information in a lively, engaging and factually accurate manner. 

Background


She is a former South African correspondent of The Chronicle of Higher Education. Her previous roles include head of communications of the Independent Development Trust in South Africa and senior book editor at Focus Publishing in Sydney.

​After graduating from the University of Cape Town she worked as a journalist and subeditor on The Cape Argus, The Sunday Tribune and The Sunday Times in South Africa. She reported on the impact of apartheid and also covered the environment, health and education beats.


Prizes
  • 2001 South African Science and Technology Journalism Awards - won print and overall prize for article  Arachnoid Park published in Leadership. Story on Gobabeb Desert Research Station, Namibia.
  • 1988 Medical Association of South Africa  Awards for Excellence in Medical Reporting -  special commendation for series of investigative articles into  overcrowding and unnecessary deaths at blacks-only King Edward V111 Hospital, published in The Sunday Tribune. ​
