International media experience

Picture of Linda VergnaniLinda Vergnani
An award-winning freelance journalist and highly experienced editor, I have had features published in more than 30 newspapers and magazines in Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States, South-East Asia and South Africa.

Widely published

Among publications that have carried my articles are ABC Environment Online, Nature Index, Luxury Travel, InDesign, Green Lifestyle, The Australian, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Australian Doctor,  Life Etc, Sunday Times (South Africa) Times Higher Education (UK), Reader's Digest, Qantas The Australian Way and Africa Environment and Wildlife.

My writing focuses on the environment,  wildlife, travel (especially ecotourism), science, health and education. But I also write about a wide range of other subjects - everything from architecture to food. I particularly enjoy travelling to remote areas and interviewing wildlife warriors, like elephant saviour Lek Chailert.

Editorial consultancy

With extensive newspaper, magazine, book and corporate editing experience, I currently run my own  consultancy Eco Editors and am a partner in Express Editors. I do content writing and editing for corporate and not-for-profit clients as well as for universities and scientific institutions. One of my strengths is conveying complex information to the public in a lively, engaging and factually accurate manner.

Background

My background is in the mainstream press and I am a former South African correspondent of The Chronicle of Higher Education. My previous roles include head of communications of the Independent Development Trust in South Africa and senior book editor for Focus Publishing in Sydney.
